Jack Ma, or Ma Yun (Chinese: 马云; [mà y̌n]; born 10 September 1964), is a Chinese business magnate, investor, politician, and philanthropist. Jack Ma’s philanthropy journey started in 2014, when he established the Jack Ma Foundation. Today it is worth $4.6 billion and has 23 million shares.
The foundation has already distributed or pledged at least $300 million, and this year it promised $14 million to protect wetlands in Hangzhou.
Jack Ma is the co-founder and former executive chairman of Alibaba Group, a multinational technology conglomerate.
As of March 2020, Ma is the wealthiest person in China, with a net worth of $42.3 billion, as well as one of the wealthiest people in the world, his rank is 20.
