What is physiological stress?
Stress is the body’s response to challenges. It can be triggered by various events, from small daily problems to major changes such as divorce or unemployment. Its response includes physical components such as the heart disease, Blood pressure, personal thoughts and beliefs about stressful events, and emotions including fear and anger.
How can we handle stress in healthy ways?
- Diet can improve health.
Some people try to reduce stress by drinking alcohol overeating or drinking. Although these measures currently seem to be helpful, they can actually worsen long-term stress. Caffeine can also make the effects of stress worse: eating a healthy, balanced diet can help relieve stress.
- Exercise regularly.
In addition to good health, exercise has been shown to help reduce stress. Consider non-competitive aerobic exercise, weight training or physical exercises like yoga or tai chi, and set reasonable goals for yourself. Exercise has been proven to release endorphins, which are a natural substance that can help you feel good and maintain a positive attitude.
- Reduce you caffeine and nicotine intake
Nicotine actually puts more stress on the body, increases physical arousal, and reduces blood flow and breathing. High level of coffee increase anxiety, dehydration, insomnia and shakiness.
- Write your problems down
Your mental state and feelings are a reflection of your thoughts. Clear your mind by bringing out painful thoughts and memories then let the beautiful thinks enter.
- Practice yoga
Yoga has been a popular way to relieve stress and exercise among all age groups research has found that yoga can enhance mood. It’s recommended for those drug and alcohol abuse treatment.
